I think you have mixed up Freud with Jung?
Jung describes ‘synchronicity’ in the Island metaphor: If you think of the world with lots of islands that all seem separate, once you go down deep into the ocean soon enough you will hit land that actually connects all the islands together (after all their not just floating around right?) They are all connected.
He expanded on this to mean human consciousness being universal and not just to a single location.
I might be wrong and I sometimes am, but this is what I thought of when I read your question, I dont remember the Iceberg theory.
