If they are not great literature, why waste time? We have the authentic Bible.

Holy Blood Holy Grail is the book that DaVinci Code was based on…here is the link fen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holy_Blood,_Holy_Grail -or info on it….
There are alot of good reference books on that specific topic. Dan Brown has also got another book that is great titled Digital Fortress about modern tech and the NSA. Great read……(The NSA can be construed as a secret society of sorts).
If you are looking for that kind of fiction you could try “The Last Templar” or “Rule of Four.” “The Historian” wasn’t bad either, but it adds a vampire twist.
The Medusa Stone by Jack DuBrul. It’s a very good adventure story from a series based around a character who’s very much into history and artifacts and stuff. There’s a quest that ends up with a biblical location, and possibly a powerful artifact from the same book. DuBrul writes good stories, and this is one of my favorites that I’ve read so far.
Try Raymond Khoury’s The Last Templar and go from there, he has several books in that vein.
Then there is in my opinion the greatest thriller writer today, Matthew Reilly whose book TEMPLE is quite good.
Next try Jack DuBrul
Then James Rollins
Have fun, happy reading!
The Rule of Four is great. So are Steve Berry’s books – The Templar Legacy and his other Cotton Malone books. Don’t waste your time with The Last Templar. It was horrible. Totally unbelievable and it quickly decayed into a really bad romance novel. Stick with Steve Berry. Pax – C
You’ve got to read Deception Point by Dan Brown. Very, very good. A bit more “modern” – more science instead of history but, WOW, a good book!
