Question by Whitnae: What kinds of things do gay men pray for in voodoo rituals?
I am researching homosexuality in Haiti and wondering about the dynamics of gay men within communal voodoo rituals.
I know that their patron Loa is Erzulie, and that she is the demi god of the feminine realm. But I do not know how one would pray to her and what it is that gay men usually pray about in the presence of their community.
If you know of any stories about homosexuals practicing voodoo, please provide a link, I am interested in getting to know better the spirit of voodoo religion.

Gay men can pray for the same things straight men pray for. The only way they could not is due to homophobia of the Christian religion. Voodoo in itself, though, is more open-minded than that. Just look at ol’ Baron Samedi!
