Question by Chris: What is having multiple personalities while conscious?
Multiple Personality Disorder causes people to have “blackouts” or periods of amnesia during changes in personality, but what if one’s personality changes completely while the person is completely aware of it and conscious?
For example: James could have 4 personalities. The first is kind and generous, enjoying the company of others. The second is often angry and laughs at violence. The third is often depressed and pessimistic. The fourth is outgoing, playful, and has a bubbly mood.
Throughout the day, James will shift through these different personalities consciously, but cannot do so voluntarily.
What is this called?
