Question by Bob D: Does the Universe have a Soul?
In quantum mechanics, there is a duality where particles have both mass (energy) and a wave function association. If particles possess a wave function, shouldn’t all matter and life? In 1982, Hawking postulatd that the universe itself has a wave function association. If that is true, shouldn’t the singularity also possess a wave function? Everything that is, ultimately, has its origin in the singularity. If it can be determine that the universe has a wave function duality, and the singularity also possesses a wave function, and all mass within the universe is made up of both matter and wave functions, then is the wave function itself what’s called soul? The physics of entanglment helps describe the relationship between matter and wave function? Could consciousness be that entangled connection between the classical world and the unseen quantum world? Is the soul of all life, a wave function? Could it be that the singularity is to death what the expanding universe is to life?
Additionally, if duality is consistent, might the singularity be to the soul what the expanding four dimensional universe is to the physical entity?
Maybe, the singularity is the universe’s wave function.
String-M-Theory isn’t testable or falsifiable by the scientific method, it does make accurate predictions—is it science?
We know that the laws of quantum physics are not constrained by those of classical physics. If matter is imperfect in the classical sense, doesn’t mean that its imperfect in the quantum world.
Quantum / Classical physics is the very foundation by which all other branches of science is based.
If the universe / singularity both possess a generalized wave function, might that explain why we live in a 10 spatial dimension universe + time; why 3 spatial dimensions—wave functions collapsed into physical being, while the other 7 are hidden—hidden in their own wave function. If we knew how to collapse those dimensional wave functions, we might be able to open up these other hidden dimension to physical reality. Might it be that scientists are looking for the answers to nature and the universe, in all the wrong places?

brilliant idea. It wouldn’t surprise me if you were correct. Every physical entity with conciousness & life-force may well tap into one vast energy that we see as our awareness, soul, what have you. The Universe & God as one & the same perhaps.
A fascinating thought.
ps…re, “if it isn’t verifiable, then it isn’t science”: You’d have to be arrogant enough to think that its possible for mankind to know all there is to know to believe that.
