B. Up, down, left, right
C. Depends on the acceleration of the object

If a stationary object experiences a downward force of 12 N and an upward force of 12 N, what is the motion of the object?
A. The object will not move.
B. The object will have an acceleration based on 24 N divided by its mass.
C. The object will continue to remain in motion until another force acts on it.

. What is the momentum of an object that has a mass of 15 kg and a velocity of 20 m/s?
A. 1.3 kg-m/s
B. 30 kg-m/s
C. 300 kg-m/s

According to Newton’s laws of motion, if the net force exerted on a ball is toward the left, then which way will the ball accelerate?
A. The ball will accelerate toward the left.
B. The ball will accelerate toward the right.
C. The ball will accelerate upwards.

Based on some early freshman year vector physics, the answers should be

1. A – a force can be exerted in any direction
2. A- the object doesn’t move for the upward force cancels out the downward force.
3. Can’t remember equation
4. A – the force is applied to the left the object will move to the left, but the thing that applied the force will move to the right due to newton’s law of equal and opposite reactions
5. A.
