Question by Shinguji: Difference between subculture and counterculture?
Hi there.I am currently studying about culture, but I can’t seem to differentiate subculture and counterculture. I looked for information regarding it, but those articles are complicated and somewhat advanced for my stage.( I am just beginning to study sociology). Can anyone please explain to me the difference between these two? Thank you!

A subculture is a small group within a larger population. Example: goths, jocks, etc.
A counterculture is a group that opposes mainstream culture. Example: the hippies in the ’60s and ’70s.
