Another great song from Loreena McKennit. The Mystic’s Dream from “The Mask and Mirror”. Lyrics: A clouded dream on an earthly night Hangs upon the crescent moon A voiceless song in an ageles light Sings at the coming dawn Birds in flight are calling there Where the heart moves the stones It’s ther that my heart is longing All for the love of you A painting hangs on an ivy wall Nestled in the emerald moss The eyes declare a truce of trust And then it draws me far away Where deep in the desert twilight Sand melts in pools of the sky When darkness lays her crimson cloak Your lamps will call me home And so it’s there my homage’s due Clutched by the still of the night And now I feel you move Every breath is full So it’s there my homage’s due Clutched by the still of the night Even the distance feels so near All for the love of you.

The Mystics sounding like the Belmonts, (or did the Belmonts sound like the Mystics?) singing “So Tenderly”, from 1959. This song was intended to be the follow-up to ‘Hushabye’, and features the original Mystics line-up with Phil Cracolici on lead vocal.

AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!
Thankx
Hail the goddess
I used to fall asleep to this song when I was a small child. 🙂
this is such a gorgeous and haunting song. it really conjurs up images of the mysterious old religions of medivel times and makes you want to go back in time and become a spiritual princess in tune with the otherworld
annunaki & draconians are trap’d w/us in this realm after their “fall”. theyre more capable of higher magic (manipulat’g matrices) since they have 12 strands dna. annunaki also possess & apply their pwr of seduction. their “magic” was taught in occult schools(dark arts). the human will is a very weak pwr since we only have 1 or 2 strands for access’g unseen energies. god’s present in us all100%. they infulenced our ego-character to make us playout the illus’n of”separation”.
Wow….
@sid1920 i’m a nonconformist, ya’kno… i have my own style.
:o) like my happy face.
@folly4444 My guess is you phyisically cant type “in” at the end of a word, or your brain melts. Interest’g way of spell’g th’gs you have..
Great song btw
It’s simple really. All creation goes back to the beginning. In the beginning all was pure and perfect. Overtime, ego took over the minds of some and “black magick” was born. They had to base their initial teachings on perverted versions of original teachings in order to have “their own”. But in reality it’s not “their own”, just a gross substitute of what already was. Take the inverted pentagram for example, that’s a common example of a perverted symbol.
@TJWhitewolf that’s interest’g what you said. can you elaborate? & can you elaborate more about the ‘perversion of the original & symbols’?
Also, black magick is a bastardization of the original form of energy work, or what some call “white magick”. Throughout much of history, people generally think of the Dark side when they hear about anything Pagan. But the truth is, there is Paganism of the Light just as there is of the Dark. And it’s this Paganism of the Light that has been suppressed because it represents the greatest threat to Earthly tyranny. It’s a direct conduit to God, the ultimate “threat to national security”.
@folly4444 Wow, you worded that quite excellently. And it’s accurate to a T. However divine spiritual, or “cosmic” evolution is about healing which will be an inevitable result after the end of this Dark age. A new “matrix” will come about that will reflect the divine qualities of the REAL matrix, or rather…”Creatrix”. All the negative in existence now is not original unto itself, but a perversion of the original. Just like with symbols.
stupenda
@tranquillitybase3
This is the most romantic, moving and soul-stirring expression I have ever read. Best wishes to you and your husband.
@folly4444 1st. Why you spell it ‘magick’? There’s no such word in the vocabulary. 2nd. Black magic is for deluded, that didn’t stop believing fairytales after their childhood. 3rd Matrix is totally irrelevant here. It’s a just a 90’s sci-fi movie, don’t take that stuff seriously dude. 4rth All Yay for Loreena’s music!!
magick can be wonderful too but we in this realm are connected to a Phantom Matrix which carries aspects that allows for black magick energy steal’g. the phantom matrix is the interest’g thing, turn’g us inside-out, reverses our divine blueprint& brings out our shadowy side. most conflicts derive from our inner conflicts due to this matrix thats bleed’g into our matrix. this is one of the things that happened w/the fallen gods & a melchizedek mathematical heal’g pattern that went out of control.
@Neueregel that’s interest’g that you’d say “fairytales” since paganism & ancient history is repleat w/fairytale beings, demi-gods, & astral entities that make up the fairytale stories. what i’m talk’g about is conscious awareness that we naturally carry a power that is stronger than all that “magick” could ever be. magic deals w/illusions, but our Heart centered, focused desires are much MORE powerful. it’s our natural power. no rituals or effort needed.
@folly4444 stop believeing fairytales. Unless you’re under 5 years old.
Illud carmen miram quaedam virem est!
“witchcraft” is taken from the mathematical “magick” that the draco & annunaki beings carry w/them because they have 10 & 12 strand dna where WE only have 1 strand or 2 at the moment. 2012 will anchor more Light energy into our crystalline dna allow’g us more capacity for amaz’g feats by our current standards thst galactic beings & ancient human ancestors have. the craft only manipulates aspects of a matrix but isnt where our true power resides. we’re natually capable of creat’g universes.
@vampiretinkerbelle You going to spend seven and a half minutes walking down the isle? Lol!
Pagan – country dweller, from Pagani: one who lives in the wilds/rustic.
So you can, in theory have Christian/Jewish/Islamic Pagans, if you’re going to be technical.
Just has another meaning now as it’s applied to a religion.
@CaptainPeenNoPants idk anything anymore… LOL!but I think words such as pagan and heratic were often used in a wrong way by priests and stuff.. whatever!:-D
cool song its like im drawn to it by something but AWESOME!!!
My pleasure,and welcome back !
lovely little tune, ..i seem to end up on your channel quite often.. thanks for sharing this .
Awesome….never heard this one!!!
did you guys know that “Teenager in love” was supposed to be for these guys? but it was given to dion and the belmonts. both the mystics and dion and the belmonts were both on Laurie Records at the time
fab
Thanks for the stars!
Ooohhh never heard this one and it’s already my favourite song by the mystics, 5* for sure!
ahhhh, Thank you for this one.
Paul Simon! Thanks for the info. Very much a ‘Belmonts’ and ‘Hushabye’ sound.
The Mystics were from Brooklyn and came slightly after Dion & The Belmonts from the Bronx. The story goes they were going to record a song by Doc Pomus and Mort Shulman, that was given at the last minute to Dion & The Belmonts (I don’t remember which song). To make up for this, Doc Pomus and Mort Shulman wrote “Hushabye” and gave it to the Mystics the next day. Later versions of the Mystics had Jay Traynor (who went on to Jay & the Americans) and Paul Simon (very briefly) as lead singers.
A definite Belmont sound, nice falsetto in background, flip is Don’t Take the Stars.
I love the Mystics!
Yep, definately more up-market!
i for my sins is english they sound like the belmonts a little classier i think myself though
good song
Oh, you mean the more famous ‘In The Still…Of…The…Night..schwop and doooby wah… Same title, different song.
Hi – I only know the Belmont’s version I’m afraid, but I’ll listen out for the 5 Satins. And yes, “…The Stars” is a song I like a lot.
SirBasildeBrush,it was my understanding that The 5 Satins sang “In The Still Of The Night”.Also, if you’d like to hear another lovely song by the ORIGINAL Mystics (with PHIL), listen to “Don’t Take The Stars”. It’s wonderful!
I always think it’s got that same tender feeling as The Belmonts’ ‘In The Still Of The Night’.
This song is beautiful and romantic. I love it!
And of course, both the Belmonts and the Mystics were with Laurie Records. Some of the songs destined for the Mystics ended up with the Belmonts, and vice-versa.
It is simply not possible to seperate the following: New York and it’s burroughs, Italians, and DOO WOP!!!
Wayne In Texas….Thanks “Sir B” from the “colonists…” The Mystics had a bit more polished sound…but what does I be knowin’ bout stuff like that there?….teach us…oh great and mighty “Sir B”
