Alchemy Ive found it is the science or art of trying to turn or”transmute” base metals into gold. I looked around and thingd on the internet said that alchemy is in fact the bases for a lot of mordern scientific practices. And things like nuclear transmutation exist because of alchemy I just want to here people’s opinion on this.
Is Alchemy Seriously The Bases For Modern Chemistry And Pyhsics?

The activities of the alchemists did allow them to stumble across the physical principles that became the foundations for modern chemistry. See the reference for more details:
Alchemy was the first attempt to answer the question “what are things made of and can we change that?” Although it seems ridiculous to us now, alchemists believed that lead could be changed to gold (and things like that.) Because of their unsuccessful attempts if gave us more insight to what the universe is made up of. By modern science it still my be possible to change lead to gold through nuclear chemistry although I don’t think it has ever been done.
The thing is, in the process of trying to transmute metals, the alchemists discovered a lot of practical stuff. I’m not sure that was the “basis” of modern chemistry, but it contributed useful facts and knowledge that had to be accounted for as the theory developed.
No ,since alchemists make no measurements>the true fodator of modern chemistry is the french Lavoisier
