I am ordering magic jack and seems they do not have a number for a live person. I want to cancel my current phone company and install magic jack, but then I have phone and alarm system in other rooms. Would the phone number magic jack assigns me work in other outlets in the house?

A friend of mine has it, and no it won’t work with your other outlets. It only works with your computers USB port. You can use it while someone else uses the land-line if you have a phone with more than one line. You actually dial the phone with a pad that will be displayed on your computer.

The phone line coming out of the Magic Jack can be hooked into the internal wiring of your home. You will simply need to run it to the panel that the existing landline is connected to.
I simply purchased a cordless phone system with 3 satellite receivers and placed them in each room.
The only drawback to MJ is that your computer must be on for it to work.
