Move to a new city where no one knows you.
What do you think? Answer below!
I did something like that. I had my name legally changed entirely (first, middle and last). I never really liked my first and middle names, and I wanted to get rid of the last name because it was my stepdad’s and my mom and stepdad had been divorced for many years. So I went to court, paid $300, went to my hearing and was granted by the judge this new name change.
It depends on why you want to start over. I felt like I finally owned my life, my destiny when I had my name legally changed. I don’t think anyone should decide what you should be called for your entire life. After my name change, I went back to college, and cut off contact with the wrong people in my life. I’m in my mid-twenties.
You need to ask yourself why you want to change, what can you do now that you need to change. Do what you can right now. I don’t think you can completely forget the past, you need the past to learn from it, and go towards a better future by learning from your past mistakes.
Look at what you really want out of life and then go for it. Cut off the toxic people, and make friends with new people. Self-improvement is about doing the best that you can each day. Don’t settle, go out for the life that you really want.
It helps if you got out a piece of paper, and write why you want to make this change, why your current life is an unhappy one, and then list the ways that you will change your life.
EDIT: Do you need to tell the new people in your life about the past? No. I think that if you learned something, and felt guilty then you have learned your lesson and its time to move on. Don’t feel guilty for too long.
We’re supposed to learn from it and not beat ourselves up. Sometimes when people learn about the things that you’ve done, they don’t look at you the same way. If you’ve done things you’re not too proud of then you will have a new start with new people.
With strangers we’re a blank canvas. You don’t have to wait for a new year or a new day to change, you can change where you are right now. Small changes can go a long way if you can’t make big changes currently. Anyway I’ve rambled too long, good night and good luck with your new life. 😉
you have to change ALL your friends. That’s the first thing they say when you’re in any kind of rehab. program. Not to say you’re a recovering addict, but the point of rehab programs is to change who you are and your habits. In order to change you can’t surround yourself with the people or the activities you have in the past. Change your friends and change the WAY you make friends so you don’t make the same kind of friends.
Other than that, try to branch out into different activities. Challenge yourself to try new things. Take a cooking class, hang out in the library, shop at a local farmers market. A good place to meet people would be meetup.com you can join groups that have similar interests or you can look for ideas of new things to do!
move to a different country , a country where nobody knows you and you don’t know them and a country where you don’t speak the language , you will find out more about yourself that is new and surprising and you wont feel like your old self but a new you .
Or the other way is fake your death steal an idenity and you can start by public records ( just a thought )
