Question by Christopher S: is it true that quantum physics has disproved materialism?
by materialism, i mean the philosophy of which previous science has so objectively clung to as their basis of interpretation, that says that all things, including mind and consciousness, which cannot be defined or identified by materialism, can only be matter—everything is matter and nothing is not.
also, if materialism is wrong, what exactly does this mean for us, non-scientists?

Just because there happen to be other things in our universe that are not strictly matter doesn’t mean that there is anything outside the basic laws of physics that run our universe. Quantum mechanics doesn’t say anything about consciousness suddenly being outside physics or anything along those lines. It’s easy to jump to conclusions about these things…but any conclusion that you jumped to is probably wrong.

It’s not strictly wrong. That said, if it was wrong…well, it would be interesting philosophically, but let’s just say that it sure as Hell wouldn’t suddenly prove any ancient religious texts right, if that’s what you’re getting at.
