Liberty set to face Dream in East finals
The New York Liberty have rebounded from the second-worst season in franchise history and are back in the Eastern Conference finals for the second time in three years. After outlasting the Indiana Fever in three games in the opening round of the playoffs, the Liberty will face the fourth-seeded Atlanta Dream in Game 1 on Sunday at Madison Square Garden.

Iwanaga, Blair take lead in national team tryouts
Mando Iwanaga shot a 5-under par 67 in the first round of the Pacific Games Guam national golf team tryouts, and followed with an even-par 72 yesterday at Guam International Country Club. With the good start, the 2010 Guam Men’s Amateur Golf Champion takes a 3-shot lead over top-ranked Louie Sunga going into today’s final round.

USA Women’s World Championship Team Training Gets Underway
Twelve players will be named to the 2010 USA Women’s World Championship Team, however, the team may not be named until as late as Sept. 21.
