Yes, it’s a Church that incorporates many Babylonian practices and traditions.
No prizes for guessing which Church that is.

Just to further Matthew’s point about the religion that incorporates Babylonion practises. Transubstantiation…the priest claiming that he can change wine into blood and bread into flesh is one of the mysteries that they even admit to.
Babylon (the city) was the center of pagan worship of every kind. Current archaeologists are staggered by the nasty practices that pervaded that society.
It is used as a symbolic picture of a current situation in the world today.
Any worship that is pagan in origin (from Gods view) is paralleled to that ancient city.
Revelation ch 18 describes ‘ít’ as a harlot deserving of destruction that will come at Gods direction but He will use modern governments to do the deed. Verse 9 tells how “the kings of the earth’ mourne her as do the traveling merchants (big business) because no longer will either realm be able to profit from manipulating ‘Her’ .
Just read the Chapter 18 details carefully and it explains in simple terms what is shown here.
it has to be “this is the mystery that was hidden from the ages, Christ in you, the hope of glory”….this takes the concept of Christ deeply into the past and gives credence to all the “mystery religions” stories of men and women who understood how to awaken the latent “kingdom of God within you”…. baal ( any of numerous Canaanite and Phoenician deities) worship probably can’t die as man is always worshiping some kind of deity other than the first cause…and mystery babylon has to imply something more ancient than the universal or roman catholic church…so yes…yes…and hide and watch
