Question by mingbai: How is nationalism different from occultism?
I know that nationalism regards a nation and occultism some kind of spiritual entity, person, god…but what are other important differences and similarities?

Great great question…
In a way they are the same, huh? Kind of like, ‘your fellow american’ is a kind of very abstract, general idea. Not really this guy or that guy, not really anyone in specific, and yet, anyone. There is a good book called Imaginary Communities that about the sort of delusion of living in a community you have never seen. People have to BELIEVE that they are part of a nation in order for a nation to exist. And that’s probably what an occultist might say about their own doctrine. In a way, a nation is hidden but everywhere. Interesting stuff to think about…
The obvious important difference is that one is a country and the other is a religion. They are similar in that people have strong opinions regarding both subjects.
Same as with apples and oranges.
