I really like this videobecause the person showing it has also showed where he got the info. It’s not something that isn’t out there. Mental Health/Mental Illness is real. I live it everyday. Ever since I was 7 y/o, I am 43 now. I also know that if I wasn’t taking meds, I could very well have been dead by now. I am a strong advocate for the mental health community and hope that 1 day to be normal. But what is Normal ??? So called “normal” does more wrong than “non-normal’. Statistics—Matt

Karamyy has fine insight. I see this AM the Fort Hood killer, a psychiatrist, is going to be “examined” by an Army Sanity Board. Aww gee, all psychiatrists are Clinically Normative. Their degree in Clinical Mental Health gives them 100% immunity from all mental illnesses. This is what they claim by implication. In psych, things are “disorders” if a minority is doing it and the majority disapproves of it. When majority adopts the behavior it’s not “illness” any more. This contradicts facts

You have to admit that there is no valuable scientific basis to terms such as “mental health” and “mental illness” instead of presenting them as definitely existent. The concept of co-morbidity had to be created due to the realization that “mental illnesses” cannot be categorized aetiologically and thus nosologically. Mental disorders MUST and can only be seen in a cultural context: Whoever is labeled as “schizophrenic” in our society would be admired as a talented shaman elsewhere.

Poor people can more easily be called mentally ill since they can’t hire attorney to sue psych who defames them with a label. Only psychs can “diagnose” mental “illness,” correct? So the psych at Fort Hood did mass murder, YET his degree gave him IMMUNITY from “disorders,” right? Therefore, ANY psych a person goes to see could himself have a serious “disorder,” they WILL NOT “diagnose” (defame) themselves with “disorders” so be safe, never ever go to see any of the Clinically Normative Ones.

How do you think people coped with these things in the past centuries. Do you think everyone with serious depression eventually acted out in public or were committed by their spouses, and ended up chained to a wall?
Was the suicide rate in past centuries way higher than us 21st century citizens with our SSRIs and Benzodiazepines could bear to accept?
I’m not bashing you, I would have bled myself to death long ago w/o medicine. Just a point for discussion.

Gee maybe people are meant to be doing meaningful work, raising healthy families and living on their own land, not watching a clock stuck in a small box? Too bad our government would rather sit on the vast expanses of land we have, giving leases to favoured corporations for almost free, allowing them to pillage resources and practically force everyone else to live in the cities. No wonder people are depressed. Our birthright is being stolen.
