Enchantment were one of the very last “sweet soul” groups of the ’70s to reach fruition and chart success. Not slick enough to be dubbed “urban contemporary,” they offered a polished take on the early ’70s soul of Motown (especially the Temptations and Marvin Gaye) and Philly (the O’Jays, particularly on the more uptempo numbers). Indeed, by the time of their first hits in 1976, the disco boom was already making them sound a bit like an anachronism. ~ Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide
The imitation of music is what they are attempting to produce, now days. No hope for longevity. The junk they pump today is what some would say is like fast food in comparison to a home cooked meal done right.
hey. i know them personally .. love them…: ) this never gets old
May I have this dance love?
Very Relaxing To Listen Too. Love It.
my god…..what a beautiful song…..
all I want is the instrumental version or a tutorial on how to play this on piano. is there any GIFTED PIANISTout there who willing to take on the challenge and post it. TODAY?????
I remember my dad playing this song daily when I was a kid. And even to this day, I love it now as much as I loved it then, if not more.
I listen to this everyday when me and my husband was going through it!!!
This is one of my favorite songs sang by one of my favorite groups. I wish they would do a reunion tour. I would certainly be on the front row.
A Brown liquor song ! !
My absolute favorite slow jam of all, and I have a few. I remember when this song came out, I had no real clue about such things, but I loved this song!!!!
This is such a beautiful song, I was young when it came out, didn’t know squat about love, but I liked this song. It is my all time favorite love song, and I have a lot of favs. But this, this is the song, and always will be. I’m a C5 & HOF 5 Tempt fan, those are my boys, but this song here, just did it for me and it still does. 49 and happy that I’ve known real music.
I remember this song before I even really understood what this love thing was all about. I’m a full grown women now, and it’s my favorite slow jam. It’s just not done like this anymore.
Man this was a great jam!!!! What a great group.
If this music died i wouldnt want to be here anymore this is love you can feel it in the music! 1972 baby!
@Swinglady1 i beg to differ! this is Awesome music but there are other great music as well!
oooh, I remember this cut had came out just before my grammar school graduation. I thought I was headed to the big time going to high school! It was my cut that summer in Chicago!
What can I say…classic! The harmonies were so tight. You appreciate that more now than ever before. With these bubblegum overnight “sensations” that can’t harmonize impromptu or even caught off guard couldn’t hold a note on key if their life depended on it! I truly miss this art.
baby boomer and proud.lol
@DaStr8Truth I swear I’m 24. I was born in 1985 & I wanna know the answer 2 the same question. My father & grandfather made sure I knew what music sounded like from an early age because it’s just what was played in the house. I am completely hurt by the sounds that come out of the radio & the fact that this is what my peers and the little ones coming up emulate. That mess is their Enchantment, Sissy Houston, Blue Magic, Otis Redding, David Ruffin, Carla Thomas. Wth! WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE!?
thanks for the memories..
très belle mélodie !
We will never hear deep felt music like how these guys sing it. This is the kind of music that makes a person cry, because we known what time zone that we came from where we showed love.
Love this song! Its real romantic!
Lol, I was born in 1969 and I LOVE this music!
