Question by Anteater: What happens if you need the toilet during a GCSE exam?
It’s never happened to me (fortunately!) but I’ve always wondered what would happened if you really had to go to the toilet in a GCSE examination? Does someone actually have to go into the cubicle with you?

Or what if say you suddenly went ill during the exam, so couldn’t finish it. Do they just mark whatever you wrote on the paper, or do you get time to finish it once you’ve recovered?

1) No, they’d stand outside the cubicle door.

2) It would depend. Assuming you were obviously genuinely ill and you’d already done other papers for the subject, they’d probably note how soon into the exam you were taken ill and give you a grade based on what you’d done. If it was early on, but you’d already seen the questions, I don’t think you’d be given a grade at all.
