Question by Sundown: What do points mean in astrology birth chart?
I see so many points in certain areas on my astrology birth chart, does that mean I am more that way if I have more points in that area?
Like my sun is Scorpio, but it has 14.58 pts. My ASC is Capricorn and it has 19 pts. XII has 27 pts in Sagittarius and VI has 27 pts in Gemini? So does that mean I am more Gemini and Sagittarius?

Those are not “points”. Each sign covers thirty degrees of arc (1/12 of a circle containing 360 degrees). The numbers indicate where in the sign between 0 degrees and 30 degrees that planet or point appeared to be at the moment you were born. This gets to be important when you start looking at the aspects between planets, which indicates the relationship between them. For example, if two planets are 180 degrees apart (so, on opposite sides of the chart), they are said to be “in opposition”, and a person with this aspect will likely have to work hard to balance the opposite directions, psychologically speaking, that each will tend to pull them in. If two points or planets lie very close to each other, say, one at 3 degrees Sagittarius and another at 4 degrees Sagittarius, they tend to blend and reinforce each other, and are said to be “in conjunction”.
House divisions will also be given in degrees, which is what your VI and XII refer to (the beginning degrees of the seventh and twelfth houses). The 12 houses indicate which areas or zones of the zodiac correspond to which areas of a given individual’s life. The seventh house, for instance, relates to both partnerships and open enemies, among other things, so any planets that fall after the beginning of the seventh house and before the beginning of the eighth house will give you information about what kind of partners or open enemies you can expect.
I hope this cleared things up a bit.
