i might say ‘good’, if it could somehow be limited to specifics, like increasing our strength a bit, or brain size a bit, or immune system a bit
some crazy mfer will always come and ‘ruin’ it though and try to make some hyper advanced human with the strength of an elephant and 10x the brain capacity we have or something
That would be very bad right now because we don’t have nearly enough information about genetics. It would be wise to restrict certain people with genetic disorders from reproducing if that is going to cause serious problems for their children. Beyond that we aren’t ready to decide what is beneficial or not. Maybe in a few hundred years if our knowledge keeps growing at such an exponential rate we will know enough to start tinkering around the edges. Forcing changes on healthy people is a serious loss of freedom and wouldn’t be tolerated in the foreseeable future.
