After successfully completing three Body For Life challenges and shedding 108lbs, there was something missing. I just was not sure what it was. A decade later, and struggles with a serious knee injury that sidelined me for nearly three years, I stumbled upon TRANSFORMATION by simply googling “BILL PHILLIPS” name. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to transform or enhance their lives and have a healthy, body, mind and soul! Bill Phillips has had years of experience, research, and personally has coached and guided many people who have enhanced their lives and the lives of others around them! I have read many books and have purchased many life-coach books, positive thinking books, and by far this is the BOOK EVERYONE MUST HAVE! THIS IS A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME AND MY TRANSFORMATION.
My life was just passing me by, and I was ok with it, because I thought this is as good as it gets. I was living in a fog, faking my way through everything. It was too painful to have it any other way. I was unhappy, unhealthy, very sad, and lonely. I blamed everyone in my life for my unhappiness. I was at one of my lowest points that I could remember. I was failing as a wife and getting a divorce for the 2nd time. I would isolate myself and eat all the time. It made me feel better and it got me through my day. I was embarrassed to be around people. The worst part of the whole thing was I was bringing my daughter down with me. We would eat together and she started to put on weight. I didn’t even really notice it.
My husband and I decided we would split up after the holidays. So in mid January I decided to go on a DIET! Yes, I said diet, because we all know that diets fix everything. And I was going to be single again, and needed to lose some weight. So looking through all the books I had, because I have tried every diet out there, I came across the BFL book. I thought I’ll do this diet, although I only did it for one week back in 2004, but this time it will be different, so I told myself. So my reasons to change in the beginning were not for the right reasons, but I didn’t know that at the time, and it got me started and I’m very grateful for that.
The last 18 weeks have been amazing for me. I have learned so much about myself. I committed to doing this program with an open heart and to really give the assignments everything I have. My intentions were to start my week and finish my week, and I would do this 18 times. Each week that passed by I became softer, happier, more forgiving. I was changing right before my eyes and my husband’s eyes. He didn’t want a divorce, but he didn’t want to keep living the way we were. Today my husband and I have a wonderful marriage. We have fun together, we laugh a lot, and we have that closeness that is new to me and I feel safe. I know in any relationship I have, I am responsible for myself and my happiness. I am not a victim and I hold all the power and I will never give that away to anyone. I feel complete, strong, and loved, and the best part of this whole thing is my daughter is now living a healthy life right along with me.

This book has changed not just my life, but my families life as well. Bill Phillips shares his life’s work in a simple easy to understand language. He not only outlines the 18 step process to a better life and sustainable health, but he also give you the tools and support you need through your journey. I have never met a more generous man who is helping to change lives daily. This book is a must read. You will not be able to put it down. I do suggest reading one chapter at a time, completing each assignment as you go. I am more loving, giving, and humble today because of this process. Being a man who just worked his whole life and neglected his family, this book totally made me realize just what I was doing to them and gave me the tools to reach inside and start becoming the husband and father that I dreamed of being. Showing love and respect to my wife, spending quality time with my children, and making great friends along my journey in the community are just some of the benefits you can get out of this book. What I love most about this book is that Bill draws from various world spiritual traditions in what he teaches, and then he confirms those principles with scientific evidence. He has found several chunks of real, authentic Truth and put it all together in one place. The result is that it addresses the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual parts of the person.
Most if not all of the AA 12 steps seem to be in the book as well, which I also love. If you are an addict, this book would be a great guide or supplement to working the 12 steps.
I recently completed Bill’s 18-week Challenge on […]. I lost 35 lbs and feel much, much better than I did a few short months ago. I am planning on doing it again now that I have the book. I have about 25 more lbs to lose to reach my goals. Maybe the best part about the book is that Bill teaches you how to maintain the change.
