Question by monodeen: This says that Christians will ALWAYS either target Islam or Judaism? What can the world do to stop the hate ?
“The Trinity . . . It did not find a place formally in the theology of the church till the 4th century.” — The Illustrated Bible Dictionary
“The three-in-one/one-in-three mystery of Father, Son and Holy Ghost made tritheism official. The subsequent almost-deification of the Virgin Mary made it quatrotheism . . . Finally, cart-loads of saints raised to quarter-deification turned Christianity into plain old-fashioned polytheism.
By the time of the Crusades, it was the most polytheistic religion to ever have existed, with the possible exception of Hinduism. This untenable contradiction between the assertion of monotheism and the reality of polytheism was dealt with by accusing other religions of the Christian fault. The Church – Catholic and later Protestant – turned aggressively on the two most clearly monotheistic religions in view – Judaism and Islam – and persecuted them as heathen or pagan.
The external history of Christianity consists largely of accusations that other religions rely on the worship of more than one god and therefore not the true God. These pagans must therefore be converted, conquered and/or killed for their own good in order that they benefit from the singularity of the Holy Trinity, plus appendages.” — The Doubter’s Companion (John Ralston Saul)

not that it will ever happen, but outlawing all religions would be a good start.

And why are you now targeting Christians?
disagreement is different from HATE.
If you can’t speak accurately why would I be convinced by you?
Yes, many like you cannot tell babies from bathwater.
God is Triune. Three ‘personas’, ie, faces, or masks; one Being. I am an employee, a husband, and a father. But I am only one being. WHY is that so hard to understand???
As to Mary and the Saints, they are not gods, they are fellow followers of God. And since, as Jesus said, our God is a God of the living, not of the dead, the saints are NOT dead. They are merely shifted to a higher dimension. If you were honest, you would recognize that as truth.
The Trinity does not teach more than one God. i don’t totally understand it, but it does teach that the Father, Son and Hol Spirit are God. John 2:19 & 20 says that Jesus rose Himself from the dead. Romans 8:11 says the Spirit rose Him from the dead. Acts 2:32 says God rose Him from from the dead. All three took part in it. Genesis 1 says God and the Holy Spirit both took part in the creation. Colosians 1:16,17 and John 1 both say that Jesus was the Creator. There you have the Trinity. By the way— the word “Trinity” isn’t in the Bible BUT it is clearly taught. It also says there is one God. I Timothy 2:5
I also realize that religion is responsible for probably most of the wars in our history. It is because mankind is selfish and can’t govern himself very well. God gave us free will. He wants us to love Him and our fellow man as He loved us enough to leave His home and come down here be crucified for us sinners.
Time. In two centuries, as technologies and global communications continue to advance even beyond our present imaginings, religion as we know it will be only another relic of the past, like horses and buggies today, or wood stoves, or deliveries by the iceman and the milk man, etc., etc. Throwbacks will exist…as they do today…but they will no older capture our interest much less impact our lives as right-wing fundamentalist Christianity does now. Time. Yes, time.
Is wiping out hate realistic, given how new believers of any belief tend to be zealous and perhaps unaware of other beliefs?
Let’s be careful about allowing distractions to keep us from faith. (Won’t there always be unpleasant realities like pain, poverty, unanswered questtions, hate?)
If we do that won’t the good life follow?
When you read something, you need to consider the source.
There are many anti-Christian writers out there, and you are quoting from one. History disagrees with your writer. The Crusades were a DEFENSIVE series of wars, that were fought AFTER the Muslims invaded the Holy Land. Today, the Best ally of Israel is the USA. Many Christians in the US financially support Jewish charities. Islam is the only one of the three religions you mentioned that have the idea of conquering the whole earth by the sword, and you can see this clearly in the actions of Muslims throughout their short history.
