Question by Jenna: Ways to get a tan without a tanning bed?
I don’t want to use tanning beds anymore, but I want to have a tan.
I’ve tried the drug store types of tanning moisturizers and found they don’t really do anything and they only last a day.
I’m looking into getting a spray tan.
Whats a good one?
I have Mystic Spray tanning booths here in town that I wanted to try.

There’s always the sun, lol.
I just used the autobronzer about a week ago. It’s similar to Mystic but it talks to you (weird!) and it actually dries you off with a fan so you don’t have to towel off or wait to leave or anything. You are a little tacky for a few hours but otherwise dry. It didn’t get me as dark as I wanted, but I know some places have different levels of darkness that you can choose from. If you only have Mystic in your town, it’s a decent option. In my experience Mystic lasts about 3-5 days, the Autobronzer lasted longer like a full 7 days (might have been the product the salon used though and not the machine?)
Also, in my experience with drugstore tanning moisturizers, you need several applications before you start seeing results, and you need to make it a regular practice (i.e. apply every 2-3 days forever). They’re not intended to be single-use for a single event, they should be part of your normal skincare routine.
Sorry that answer was a little flighty, hope it helps
EDIT: for what it’s worth, my favorite drugstore tanner is Dove summer glow. Also, make sure you exfoliate before any self-tan or spray tan – it makes it last longer.
