Question by Ken: Should I take AP Chemistry or Physics honors? Read details?
So sophomore year i took honors chem and it was ok, I had a B through out the entire year. Since we only have 3 main science classes that we HAVE to take (bio, chem, and physics) but we have to have 4 years of science. Does that make sense??? so should I take ap Chem my junior year? Then just take physics senior year? Thanks!!!

Yes you should. The AP class is very helpful, if you do well on the test you can get college credits and not have to take the class in college.

Chemistry is probably the most important science you will need to know. In college you will have to take organic chemistry, so try to pay attention as much as you can.

Any of the natural sciences are very important to understand when persuing dentistry. Physics is important, but not as important as the natural sciences.

Question by Nick: Should i take physics Hon or an Ap science class next year?
Hi everyone, thanks to my school being so organize and great at time management, i got my course selection sheet today, and they are due this following Monday ( yay). Well here’s some background- i’m going to be a senior and I go to an environmental science magnet which makes us take 6+ science credits- a the moment the science classes i’ve taken are Biology, Chemistry, Ap environmental science, and Marine science ( all hon except environmental science), and next year my magnet is forcing me to take another two science courses ( which i have no problems with, i enjoy science).

Now I’m wondering, should i take AP bio/chem, or should i take Physics Honors? Will not taking physics affect my transcript in any way? or will it be better if i take an Ap science course? I’ll aprreciate any answer

Answer by The Missy
Take AP bio. Ap classes are better because they look great on college apps. Its also a fun class. And taking this class shouldn’t affect your transcript because it falls under the same science category as physics, but whats best is that it’s AP. Hope this helps.

Question by Brian: Which science class should I take?
I am going to be a junior next year. As a freshman I took biology honors and I’m in conceptual physics honors now. I liked biology better. The options are chemistry, physics, anatomy and environmental science. I plan to do environmental science as a senior. I don’t plan to do any thing in science in college It’s just so it will look good in my college application.

Question by Great Dane: If I am interested in Medicine, and Neuroscience as well, which following options should I go for:?
1) Medicine, then go for Neurology (Neurology is not the same as neuroscience right? Neuroscience is more towards research?)
2) Take Neuroscience as a first degree, then enter Medicine graduate programme
3) Medicine / Neuroscience alone is enough, two degrees won’t do any good

Best answer:

Major in neuroscience and take the premed classes. Then you’ll have the option of going to medical school to possibly go into neurology, or to graduate school to become a neuroscientist instead.
