Question by Ryan: Can someone recommend a good source on Mithraism?
I’m looking for a decent source on Mithraism, an ancient Roman mystery religion. I’ve found a few books on Amazon that are all extremely scholarly and fairly inaccessible to an armchair historian like me. Does anyone know of a book or other source that is a good introduction to this rather complex topic?

I personally LOVE anything Stephen King. I know he is known for his horror novels but there are some REALLY wonderful short stories as well. Here is a website that has all of his works and they even tell you about the books. I think EVERYONE should read Hearts in Atlantis.

I want to read a romance book but not one that’s really mushy. I really liked the book priceless by Nicole richie. I don’t want to read something with old people in it either.. I’m sixteen. I want to read about someone in their teens or twenties.

Mystic CT hotels… where should we stay? Howard Johnson?
Looking for a reasonably priced room for a few nights for family with two young children. Howard Johnson seems well priced and close to attractions… is it a nice place? Would you recommend somewhere else?

Question by dazegg2000: Can you recommend me a book that is as good if not better than The Alchemist or The Celestine Prophecy?
I love books that make you feel inspired like The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho or The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield, can anyone recommend me books that are as food as these and which make you feel inspired?
Can you also give me a brief description of the plot…

Gates of Fire.

It is about the soldiers who fought at Thermopylae (ancient pass in Greece where 300 Spartans held off 2,000,000 Persians, and chose to die rather than retreat).

It provides and in depth look into characters of those who fought and died there, providing a story line of their upbringing and training, their personal lives, and their struggles with fear and love. Great read.

Question by lala…: What books do you recommend for a 13 year old girl?
First of all, don’t recommend Twilight. I have nothing against it, but I just don’t want to hear it.
So I like to read poetry, and realistic fiction books about doing drugs, self harm, etc. But I also like fantasy, horror, and sci-fi books too. Romance is okay, but I’m not really a big fan of mystery. Basically, I’ll read anything.
What I have read are:
Thirteen Reasons Why, Speak, Books by Ellen Hopkins, Go Ask Alice, Tweak, The Night World Series, The House of Night Series, Vampire Kisses Series, The Vampire Academy Series, The Perks of Being A Wallflower, The Book Thief, Percy Jackson and The Olympians, The Hunger Games Trilogy, Some of the Demonata Series, Graceling, Tangerine, The Diary of Anne Frank, Poetry by Emily Dickinson and Edgar Allan Poe, Books by Sarah Dessen, Copper Sun, Uglies Series, Willow, Cut, Carrie, The Shining, and a lot more.
At the moment I don’t know what to read. So is there anything that you recommend that I might like? I’m open to anything at the moment.
Oh, and I’m also interested in reading The Catcher in the Rye, and To Kill A Mockingbird.

Why not start on The Catcher in the Rye or To Kill a Mockingbird? Seriously, you seem ready to move beyond young adult lit.
