Question by sting: How to have more stage ‘presence’ during a demanding piano performance?
I am playing Ondine (by Ravel) at a festival on Monday and I have discovered that I look cold and uninterested at the piano. Having stage presence actually helps with performances because of some ‘pianistic’ reasons that are not worth mentioning.

Thanks! Any ideas are welcome.

The best thing to do is relax and enjoy the music you’re playing. Be open to how it makes you feel and what you want to communicate to the audience.

Also, having stage presence doesn’t just matter for pianists….it matters for every kind of performance—even oral presentations or running a business meeting!
