Question by the_ambusher: Why do religious folks believe their faith makes god’s existence absolutely true?
Faith may have nothing to do with absolute truth, It only opens the door to other beliefs. If your faith was absolute truth then you would have absolute proof, and that faith would be absolute fact not faith any longer. So what is the mystic about faith. Why is it held with such high feelings when faith does not in any way change any absolutes truths about anything. And sorry folks but this includes faith about god’s existence Just remember Beliefs are as good as it gets.

Question by Alexandria: What makes a non believer in religion?
I have found that some think they are non believers as a sort of calling, as priests feel they are called to serve.
There are many reasons people doubt God.
This question, is just for those who do not believe in God.
So if you believe in God, please pass and comment another time.
I just want to understand why some do not.
This is not to criticize or attack; I just like reading other points of view.
Warning if you are not a nonbeliever, I will put a thumbs down on your answer; as the answers are by invitation only to non believers.
I will not post my comments or thoughts at all after somebody starts posting.
Thank you for understanding.

I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.

Question by doubt_is_freedom: What is it about math that makes it so difficult for so many people?
I would really like an answer from a neurological perspective (backed up by evidence) rather than baseless and unscientific educational theories. Are there any findings in neuroscience/neurology, neurochemistry, genetics, or MRI studies which shed light on the brain’s processing of math? What about those who excel in math from an early age (with little effort) are their brains somehow demonstrably different from the rest of the world?
OK, I’m aware of the right brain/ left brain thing, but many people who excel in music or art are also very good at math. And some who have great skill in logic and philosophy or language aren’t that good at math. I’m not sure that the hemisphere theory is really the answer. I’m very good at reasoning and critical thinking and making arguments, as well as the qualitative side of natural science (anthropology, biology, geology), but I’ve always struggled with math. The numbers just start “swimming” in my head after several minutes. I agree that “sequential” tasks (such as arithmetic) are where the difficulty lies; the “conceptual” part of math is not as much of a problem for me as the computational part.

People poses talents for different things . Everyone is not gifted for math. Take me my gift is Science. It would be sad if every one could do the same thing .( Math) but nothing else. So I am happy we all have difference skills and talents. Now aren’t you.

It is more faithful to the manga, so the story will go in a different direction that the original anime series did. You will not be disappointed.

Question by Cuddly B: How would you spell the sound a hand saw makes when sawing?
I did a search and can’t seem to find anything on what the sound of a saw is, or how to spell it.

I can hear (in my head) the sound of a hand saw that’s sawing through wood, but have no clue how it could be spelt.

Any thoughts?

There isn’t any actual ingredient, there’s a time limit on the bottom of the screen, and they have a certain amount of days until they “grow up”. There isn’t an ingredient that make them grow, they grow up within a time limit/amount of days.

Question by Sine Language: What part of our brain makes us different from other animals?
As a civilization we seem to have come pretty far in understanding, or thinking we understand, the universe–in spite of many inhumane, barbaric, and moronic leaders. What allows this curiosity and evolutionary progrss of technology? Is it simply the size of the brain, or is there some “component” that even, say, apes, are lacking?

Do you think that can continue, or at some point is there a wall–things about the universe that no matter how hard we try, our brains simply cannot comprehend?

cortex, especially speech centers.

I firmly believe there is no theoretical limit to scientific study.
But practical thing like respect, funding and the mood in society affect progress of science a lot.
