Question by ipeewhite: What were some of the Drunkest Celebrations or Parties or Festivals of the ancient world that don’t exist?
Hello,

I’m currently doing a research project on some the craziest parties/celebrations/festivals that took place in ancient history. I’m mainly looking for celebrations that don’t exist anymore. So celebrations that have stood the test of time and are currently celebrated today isn’t the focus. I have done tones of research online and can’t seem to come up with much. A few examples of what I have found are: THE CRITIC’S REVENGE Paris, 10 November 1975, NERO’S LAKE OF WINE, THE FEAST OF BEASTS Paris, 31 December 1870.

The crazier the celebration and the more drinking the better.

I know it’s a weird request, but any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks again,
Sam

Bacchanalia

Greek God Bacchus, god of male fertility, wine, music and ecstatic dance.
Held in secret and attended by women only.
Those who partake in his mysteries are possessed and empowered by the god himself.
His cult was a “cult of the souls”; his maenads feed the dead through blood-offerings, and he acts as a divine communicant between the living and the dead.
The notoriety of these festivals, where many kinds of crimes and political conspiracies were supposed to be planned.
Think drunk, crazy, horny, dancing vampires.
A guy could literally and gladly loose his head at one of these things.

Question by Joseph Kanz: Atheists: if God doesn’t exist, why is the world colored properly?
You can’t explain that.

Checkmate, atheists.
@jeffrcal: just one. Why?
@Annie Howser: Yes, I went to school. They taught me about the lies of evolution and the truth of God in everything.
Trolls? The only trolls I see here are atheists.

Question by American citizen and taxpayer: Is it possible that all moments in time exist simultaneously?
I remember reading something about this in a science article, concerning physics.

Can anyone explain this concept? Does it apply only at the smallest subatomic level?

Is the human conception of time somehow at variance with the laws of physics?

Any information would be helpful. thanks.

Question by : Atheists, do you exist or are you just an illusion?
I keep hearing atheists talk about physics out of nothingness being evidence that God does not exist. However, the Apostle Paul explained to the Athenians the attributes of God by contrast to physical reality. In ancient Athens, they had thousands of statues that they worshiped as gods. There were a few that were dedicated ”To An Unknown God” just in case there was a God they forgot to honor. Well, Paul explained the unknown God to them: that God can not be restricted to any man-made institution, nor anything conceived in the minds of men; physical nor conceptual. God is an un-embodied mind that you can’t know unless you bridge the gap between your human philosophical perspective and God’s theological revelation.

So do atheists think the same way as the Athenians when it comes to their own person? Does the ego not exist, even though human consciousness is macro-centralized into real time? Is the fact that you’re able to conceive of eternity not transcendent beyond physics? Why does your cause-effect reasonability not limit you to your own world?

How is it that my reason doesn’t limit me to my world? I’m ok with that, even if it is limiting.

Question by LvL60_Warlock: How can one say supernatural activities like levitation, ghosts dont exist just because they disobey physics?
Science is what we made to describe the universe. The universe existed and is existing. Physics is a framework , a mathematical model , of describing how the universe works and has worked. If the universe , as existed , suddenly changes , all our science and laws of physics get crushed. So , how can one say > see question.

Question by wow: Does time exist at the quantum level?
My hunch is no. There’s really no mass to affect things either way. Things can supposedly happen before the effects. So if it’s there at all does it run fast, slow, or perhaps inconceivable process that can only be shown mathematically ? And how could a tiny, tiny, clock operate way down there anyways, lol.?
When the universe “ends”, will the quantum world continue on without time, having no concept of what it was in the first place? Now there’s a deep thought, eh?

Best answer:

Answer by goring
A quantum is an entity that cannot be divided any further..The Unit of time is a second.
is time a quantum? The Big Bang theory indicated an expansion in 10^-43 seconds. so in between the expansion time can be divided further ,However what is exactly the limit of time? it would be zero time.Hence time cannot go below zero.any more than we can freeze hydrogen below zero Kelvin.
