Question by sam: In university requirements, is geography considered a ‘science’, or is it only physics, biology, chemistry?
I know that biology, chemistry and physics are typical sciences, but i was wondering if geography was considered as a science?
In terms of university requirements/applications..? (in the UK)

For example some courses i am looking at, state the requirements of English and a science..and physics was the only science i took at GCSE level, and i dropped it after that.

Thanks.
oh yeah..social studies. i don’t know why i didn’t think of that..cos i actually know it aha :| there was just something in the back of my mind thinking that geography might be classed as a science..like an earth science.

oh well..thanks anyway. [:

Geography is considered as a social study, I believe.
Also, chemistry, biology, and physics are lab sciences, unlike psychology, sociology, and physical science.

Question by John H: why is a 4 leaf clover and the number 7 considered lucky?
I want to know why people say 7 is my favorite number because its lucky and 4 leaf clovers are lucky. I want to know why people think that.
It might not be in the right category. I just didn’t know where it goes.

Best answer:

Answer by I am ME!
Well, to the Irish, a four leaf clover is considered to bring Luck. I am not Irish, so I believe that is a myth. Aslo, I don’t know why the number 7 is considered “Lucky.” Another myth with numbers, is the number “13″ this number is considered “un-lucky”

I do not think that these figures are LUCKY. I think it is just some Irish myth.

Question by marshasaur: why is the great wall of china considered great when so many people died building it?
The Great Wall of Chine wasn’t built for the love of China or money.
In fact, slaves were forced to build it because of the fear of death
given upon them if they refused. If this is true, what makes the Great
Wall so great and honorable when millions of Chinese were tortured and
put to death to build it?

Question by Leonard K: Can the Eastern Orthodox Church be considered genuine Christianity?
These ancient churches in the East may have a lot of history, but they seem to be full of mysticism and rituals. Iconography, rituals, incense, dominate. Salvation is attained by the “Sacred Mysteries rituals”. Strange doctrines like theosis – where man becomes like God, which sounds Mormonish. They may trace their history to Bible times but they don’t seem biblical. what do you think?

Best answer:

Answer by Breandan An Bodhbhdercc
I’ve always found the Orthodox Church to follow the Bible a lot better than Protestant Churches.

Question by Citizen of the Cosmos: Christians, have you considered the possibility that Jesus was a Jewish mystic?
whose purpose was to teach us what God is like (by being totally obedient to His will), rather than to be a human sacrifice to fulfill the covenant between God and Israel?

The whole “I am God” thing could have been because his mysticism allowed him to totally identify with God.

The “Liar, Lunatic, Lord” trilemma does not address this possibility.

Best answer:

Answer by Salvaged By † Grace †
Being obedient to the will of His Father, Jesus Christ God the eternal Son went to His death as His Father commanded.

Jesus declaring Himself to be the I AM of the Hebrew scriptures is just that.

I observe the juvenile and ridiculous attempt to reduce the power of this by adding the word “thing”.
Fail.

Question by Malignant Narcissist: How is it that you are considered “enlightened” if you want the government to have more control of our pockets?
and our lives?

Being that the government has a track record of wasting money and driving up deficits without any evidence that they have ever even attempted to be fiscally responsible, wouldn’t that make you anything but enlightened?

Best answer:

Answer by relevant inquiry
I consider myself enlightened because I can see through simple-minded conservative arguments.

Question by Beebs: Why is an all-white or an all-black painting considered art?
In museums devoted to modern art, you often see canvasses of monochromatic color, sometimes with a dot or two of another color. I’d like some experienced art critic to explain to me what makes this art.

Art is in the eye of the beholder, art to me can be junk to you, and vice-versa.
