Question by Koon-dog: Who really thinks the world will end in 2012?
It says in the bible that no man will know when the world is going to end, and when God comes it will be in the blink of an eye. So who really believes all that stuff about 2012?

I dont. I think everything boils down to science and just because the mayans think the world will end in 2012 doesnt mean it will. Every old society had an end of the world date. there was one in 2006. The 2012 thing is just really publicized and since it hasnt happened yet, people think it will. That being say, PARTY AT MY HOUSE THE DAY AFTER!

Nothing will happen. The whole thing is an invention by a bunch of frauds and crackpots trying to get you to buy worthless books and videos. None of it has any basis in real science. The people promoting this have no knowledge of science. They just like to pretend to be knowledgeable in order to impress the gullible. Don’t be one of the gullible.
There is no ‘ancient prediction’ by the Mayans or anyone else. These were all invented in the last 20 years.
There is no ‘mystery planet’ about to pass by. Why don’t the fraudsters tell us its current location in the sky, so we can all look at it? You decide.
There will be no rare alignment, either planetary or galactic. When was the last alignment that caused us any problems anyway?
There will be no pole shift. A magnetic pole shift is not imminent and probably tens of thousands of years away. A sudden rotational pole shift is a physical impossibility.
The next solar maximum is expected in mid 2013, not 2012 and is expected to be less intense than the last maximum in 2001.
Other predictions such as the photon belt and Terence McKenna’s Timewave Zero are just too silly to bother with.
…believers – so, new years eve celebration may come early…
It’s all crap. If humans predict it will be a certain time, then it’s definitely not going to happen then. People just need to stop trying to play God, attempting to figure out what is way over their head. The end will come, and there’s no way we’ll know when it happens. End of story.
My cats do. they are pissed-off!..The Bible is right!! don’t be worrying boy.
It might. It might end tomorrow. We don’t know. We can only speculate, but the idea came from the Mayan calendar. Personally I reeeally don’t think so. Any day might be our last day, but bible readers (believers) would know the end is near when the beast (a man of high power) gets shot in the head, and in three days he would arise. So… there you have it.
-I did find the 2012 movie rather enjoyable though. My mom thought the story was lacking (and it was in parts) and it seemed to have a LOT of blue skies when it seems like there would have been storms (ya know will tidal waves, and the earth shifting and all. lol) even so I thought it was great. –The visual effects were amazing. And Cusack was at his best! -Anyone who hasn’t seen it should, because it’s a lot of fun 🙂
No no no no course not. Sciencists thought the world would end in 2009- and ooo look what happened?! Nada-nothing-zilch-zero. Mhmmm point made 😛
