Question by Aniu Snow: Which Fullmetal Alchemist should I watch first?
Oki it goes,
I ordered from Netflix, the first DVD of the first Season and 4 episodes of Fullmetal Alchemist. It says the year 2001. The first episodes are called, “Those who challenge the sun,” “Body of the Sanctioned,” “Mother” and “A Forger’s Love.” Is this the first, very first DVD I should be watching? I’m pretty sure this is the first Anime that follows the Manga, they have a newer version ya? What is that called?
When I look online for the says nothing about this…
The first episode starts of with the one boy changed and the other one without a leg, and then them both being in the desert. I just paused there because It seems like Im not going in order??
So if anyone knows the EXACT order of episodes…from older version then to newer version..please let me know. Movies included. I want to go from A to the right sequence:) Thanks:D
Any other Anime recommendations??;)

Fullmetal Alchemist follows the manga only a bit from the start but later diverges. It is the old version.

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood stays true to the manga till the end.It is the new, better version.

Whichever you may wanna watch first, it doesn’t matter. If I were you, I would just watch Brotherhood and probably don’t even give a F about the previous version, since Brotherhood is much MUCH better.

  1. Thats not the one following the manga.the anime is made faster than the manga itself,so the story is a bit different.
The real one following manga is Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

the story is supposed to be like that, two small boys tries to revive their dead mother with alchemy, but end up losing their body parts.then the story goes mainly when they grew up.
    Anime recommends:
famous one: Bleach, Code Geass, Black Rock Shooter, Oreimo, Fairy Tail, Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
not famous enough but good: Nabari no ou, Toriko, Kekkaishi.

  2. Watch the one first, so when you watch Brotherhood, you will be blown away by how much more awesome the second is compared to the first.

  3. First, watch the first 4 episodes of the first series.
(The brotherhood didn’t produce it from the start to save money.)
Then watch FMA:brotherhood because it’s better and follows the manga.
