Question by Life Rocks: Is the search for REAL answers to life’s mysteries more gratifying than simply blindly accepting ancient dogma
Is there anybody else who feels an absolute joy and sense wonder and fulfillment when learning about the true scientific reasons for the how the universe and everything that is in it came to be ?

Do you feel an immense sense of wonder and amazement when you contemplate the sky at night and marvel at all we have learnt about our orgins and existance and all that there is still to know ?

Finally do you think that this joy and wonder is far superior to simply accepting ancient dogmatic myths as a way of explaining the world around us

PS… A certain St mike replied to me yesterday the following :

“Search no more!!!!

Jesus is the truth, the way and the life!”

That is the kind of thinking that disturbs me.

I say Never stop searching !

  1. never stop searching…and you’ll finally reach st. Mike.

  2. Yes, never stop searching…..
Keep on, you will find that your evolution theory is busy crumbling, soon you are going to need a new theory….
I have a suggestion, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth”, you carry on searhing, dude

  3. Agreed! There is a huge expanse outside of our own backyards. We should never stop searching, seeking and learning.

    Rock on!

  4. I indeed derive an immense amount of pleasure from studying anything from Schrodingers mathematical equations, to Astronomy to Physical Cosmology within Astrophysics, to the First moment in time (The X particle in particular makes me believe that GUF Theory must be true) to Social Science and Psychology.

I see the work of God’s hands most everywhere, but my theocratic studies have always led me to believe that the God of the Bible (which is different than the dogmatic God than many believe in) teaches me that he wants me to think for myself, and discover such things rather than just “accept”. Many times throughout the scriptures, he explains the reasons WHY he makes statements, and requests of us. Sort of impressive when you think about it. The Almighty Sovereign trying to reason with humans who compared to agelessness, would know very little. It speaks to the great reasoning ability that we are given and must possess.

Indeed, one congregation in Borea were commended by the Apostle Paul because they didn’t accept what he said just because he “said so”, but they did the research themselves to see if he was making it all up, he was full of it, or was actually speaking something that could rationaly be proven.

“The people of Berea were more open-minded than the people of Thessalonica. They were very willing to receive God’s message, and every day they carefully examined the Scriptures to see if what Paul said was true” – Acts 17:11

  5. Yes, yes and yes. I agree completely. I myself had a reply from another user calling me idiotic and foolish for not believing in god. I wonder why some people can be so ignorant.

  6. I absolutely agree with all of the above. And yes, I am a Priest. Not a Catholic Priest however. The price of life is Education. To stop searching or asking questions is a crime against Spirit. Each and every day we live is a day to learn from.
    As to the PS…
It is sad to think that anyone would say stop searching.
Ask your questions and fill your minds. Discover all the wonders of our world and beyond. Never stop Learning.
Life is an awesome time. Explore it!

  7. Hi there.
Yes I love the night sky. Yes I stand in awe at the world and what mankind has accomplished.
If the search for something real makes your life complete then by all means party on!

May GOD richly bless you on your journey.

  8. I do, I do, I doooooooooooooooooooo!!!! And, YES, the quest for real answers is far more gratifying than blindly accepting any dogma!!!…Ancient scrolls of wisdom provide us with some clues, History and Science give us the instruments to carry out our researches, one day we’ll get to the point;)

  9. Absolutely.

  10. There`s nothing at all mysterious about LIFE!! They`ve listed the ingredients on the side of the box for years!!!!!
