Question by Christi: A significant cultural shift with a date you can pin point?
Ok, so, my friend has to write a paper on a cultural shift. It has to be within her lifetime, so within the last 16 years, and it has to have a significant date that you can pin point. Also, pretty much everyone else is doing technology, but she is trying to stay clear of that and come up with something original. Any Ideas? Thanks so much!

I think that Obama getting elected as the first “black” president has to be the most significant cultural shift in recent times. I think so because it gives blacks a sense of pride and vindication while whites can finally feel a moral guilt lifted off their backs and maybe that will just make handshakes and everyday interactions between white and blacks that much easier.
