i dont know who christian mystic are. but i do know that god speaks to folks in dreams. one prophesy says that your young men will prophesy and your old men will dream dreams. then acts had paul who wanted to go to asia and preached but the Spirit said no. then he had a dream about a guy from Macedonia begging him to come. so that’s 2. i’m sure there are more but i dont remember them right now.
Yes He does. He spoke to me on my cell phone audibly, and before you dismiss it, consider if God CAN do it….. and trust me, He can. I talked to the Father for over an hour, can you believe it?! Probably not. And what He had to tell me was hard for me to accept (that the one I was in love with wasn’t the one for me). But He did. And He does talk to us. When I asked Him “Why did you choose to speak to me in this way” He said “B/c it was the only way you would listen.” That means all those “normal” times in my life before I talked to God, He was talking to me but I wouldn’t listen. And it means He is still speaking to me, even though I can’t hear Him audibly anymore. He is always ready to talk to us, we just need to open our ears. I hope you don’t need to hear Him audibly like I did. (btw, I was a christian b4 He talked to me…it wasn’t a “conversion” thing… though He did say “I long for an intimate relationship with you William.”) Be discerning. Read, pray. Learn to love God and His ways. Everything He does He does with love, even the things we don’t understand. (Read “The Shack” if you haven’t yet)
The Christian mystics are the ones who love. The commandment is in the heart, dreams and within. It is not in the external rules, regulations and traditions that regular Christians follow.
