Bill Nye is the greatest. I am sad to see him as a spokesperson for some psuedo-scientific cleaning product. :
Am I the only one here who thought that cough at the end was absolutely priceless? XDD
@jordanmarcus Einstein believed astroNOMY was an incredibly useful field, not astroLOGY. And the context of that belief was not based in any mystic jibber jabber. Jung… was a psychologist? Living in a time when modern psychology was still being born? It doesn’t strike me as proof of astrology’s credibility that such a person looked into it, no more than any modern day scientist who still holds to religious beliefs.
Astrology is not of God according to Isaiah chapter 47 verses 12 to 15 Isa 47:13 “You are wearied with your many counsels; Let now the astrologers, Those who prophesy by the stars, Those who predict by the new moons, Stand up and save you from what will come upon you. Isa 47:14 “Behold, they have become like stubble, Fire burns them; They cannot deliver themselves from the power of the flame; There will be no coal to warm by Nor a fire to sit before!

@jordanmarcus it´s harmless as long as it is seen as pure entertainment. Of course it´s a multimillion dollar business. However, there are many many people that believe in it as a fact, and plan their days around it. And many charlatans that take advantage of these gullible people.
@jordanmarcus “spiritual nature will never be fully grasped by your “rational thought”
Yeah right. Let’s dispense with that big old nasty rational thought. The same rational thought that supplied you with the computer you are now using to post messages. Those “meta-physical” electrons responding to your key-presses were never told by you that it’s more important to just believe in the spirit of the key-press.
Viva spiritualism! But unplug your computer first…
@ebrobaru i respect that view point, because the search for truth is what i believe will lead to universal love. but in my opinion some of these “half-truths and myths” are all we have to express some kind of comprehension of the , as of now, incomprehensible. symbolism, synchronicity, and archetypical analysis are all the offspring of astrology. maybe they arent “needed” per say, but i dont see astrology as dangerous or useless. i see it in a positive light.
@jordanmarcus I agree completely that truth is often stranger than fiction. That is why we really don´t need all these semi-truths and myths.
@ebrobaru point taken. your rationality prevails yet again. but don’t you ever think that sometimes reality is indeed stranger than fiction? cant lifes mysteries prove to be irrational at times?
@Remagoen ancient roman mythology is absolutely astrological in origin my friend, which was my point to begin with.
@jordanmarcus policemen are people just like you and me. And they are also subject to beliefs, rational or not, just like anybody else. They are wrong in this case, because they are assuming something, and they think it is the truth. If they did a little further invesitigation (no pun intended), they would realize that they were wrong with the facts.
@jordanmarcus
Martial doesn’t have astrological origins. Mars was named after the Roman god of war, Mars, which is where we get the word from.
@GCBiggles concepts of a mystical, meta-physical, or spiritual nature will never be fully grasped by your “rational thought”. .Macrocosmos is the same as microcosmos. great “thinkers” such as albert einstein and carl jung surely didnt dismiss astrology as useless
@ebrobaru im just pointing out how the stars have always been linked to the human experience. urban legend or not, ive met police who BELIEVE the full moon has an effect on ppl. Why are they wrong? because astrology doesnt hold up to the scientific method? many abstract concepts such as love or poetry wont either, im jus sayin basing your beliefs on the scientific methods limited analysis is jus crazy to me
@jordanmarcus
Ummmm….it also means there is more LIGHT at night to do things.
If battle, crime (and arrests) increase during a full moon, doesn’t it occur to people that criminals can SEE better during a full moon? And if that criminal is chased through an alleyway, he’s less likely to get away because the police can see better in moonlight.
This is one of the biggest “duh, no kidding”s in all mankind. But we love mystique and despise people who take it away with rational thought.
@jordanmarcus The moon influencing behaivor is an urban legend. Yes it affects tides, and even the solid ground on earth. The planets though are hundreds, thousands and tenths of thousands times farther away. Hence their effects are negligible.
well without a doubt the alignment of the planets do have significance on what happens on earth. I mean the moon alone has a big influence, controlling the tides of the ocean, and dont forget our bodies are made up of mostly water. And you can look at the police statistics of full moons for further evidence. as a matter of fact, the words “lunatic” and “martial” have astrological origins.
well 24,000 years you’ll be back to what you used to be maybe. good luck seeing it. 😛
“Superstition is to religion what astrology is to astronomy: the mad daughter of a wise mother.”
—Voltaire
i had a reading from a friend’s mom that tried to take the discrepancies into account. at least she put the extra effort into the bullshit.
“Millionaires don’t use Astrology, billionaires do.”
— J. P. Morgan
Nye is just a nay saying shill.
The dude is outgoing & hilarous, nothing like a Scorpio.
I’m a Scorpio 11/15
@vaughnbogert Educate ourselves about astrology? Is that like educating ourselves about the One True Religion, that of the Flying Spaghetti Monster?
PROTIP; to be educated in something, that something has to be a body of knowledge, not a bunch of bullshit.
how does astrology work?
how does astrology work
we will be eating oil from the gulf soon
@FlashingSergio after all, the stars are from which they came… who might “they” be? depends on who you ask… time will unveil.
@xXtwittyburdXx
prove your statement

how is the Mayan calender better
than the Gregorian calender
your use of bad language proves nothing
but your own failings
your own lack of
@xXtwittyburdXx The gregorian calendar isn’t bullshit. But I agree – they were certainly amazing mathematicians and astrologers, as many ancients were. I think your dislike of the Gregorian comes from a dislike of Christianity. It’s hard to deny that Jesus of Nazareth’s life wasn’t a turning point for history, even if you aren’t Christian. And there’s no reason to hate that we have a “Common Era” just because it’s associated with that man.
there is a free course on asrtology and other topics on the gnostic teachings website.
r u saying this post was put up by the government or not?
True, but think of this. If the moon has an influence on the Ocean (tides, for example) and humans are made up of 70% water… would the moon not have an influence on us? Rationally, it’s hard to accept it, but it’s not completely farfetch’d. Astrology is becoming more and more of a science rather than a “new age hype”. I believe every floating body in space has an influence on everything else. It’s called gravity.
not only in a article i saw it on a documentary. he said if you came up to any of them with that theory they wouldn’t know what you were talking about.
shut up!!!
@jposco You wouldn’t believe how many people with the same sign as me also have two eyes, two ears, and even a nose!
Seriously, though, most people run the gamut when it comes to personality traits. Most people are sometimes stubborn, outgoing, etc, etc.
“We are born at a given moment in a given place and like vintage years of wine we have the qualities of the year and of the season in which we are born. Astrology does not lay claim to anything else.”

Such an informative video. *Continues to part 2*
Another brave censorous post by the communist government of the world. If you don’t believe in it, why did you even come to this video? What do you care? This is the rationale that led all the religious persecutions in communist countries…ANYthing is dangerous in the wrong hands.
@chadmaveric …. ok smartypants, why is it that the Mayans used the cosmos (astrology) and developed a calender that’s more mathematically correct than this definite “bullshit” gregorian calender that the western world has come to believe in? What constitutes as evidence is your ignorance!
Astrology is nothing but made up stories. For some people its just harmless fun, but for others it could have tragic consequences.
It has the potential to be as dangerous as any disease known to man.
and you know this because you’ve studied the matter deeply and came to the conclusion it made no sense right?
Does anyone know how I can calculate CAZIMI (also known as casimi and zaminium)? It refers to when a planet is within 16 or 17 minutes or arc from the centre of the sun disk/heart of the sun/core of the sun.
Online charts, illustrations, books, etc., would all be helpful!
i cant understand why your comment got a thumbs down… Astrology IS bull shit.. why? it is a method of evaluation that relies on peoples emotional bar of what constitutes as evidence. just like religion… BULL!!
you’re absolutely right!
thats not true that the mayans believe the end of the world is 2012. it just marks in there calendar a new age and is something to be celebrated…look it up it was in a recent article…the one who said this was of mayan ancestry its a western belief not what the mayans believe
dude aint shit gonna happen its just a date…the ppl you look up to are just trying to sucker you to buy shit and panic cuz they can our society is their sheep…hence y2k werent we all suppose to die???
why dose it keep jumping?
A human
body is about a thousand times closer to Pluto in space than one of its
electrons is to it in size.
