i was excited at first when i saw that there was a second season or a sequal to fma but when i watched it was like ‘wtf theres no difference at all, the plot is even the same and their pretty much retelling it’ whats up with that? also with the movies, they keep on repeating it T.T

the original anime only took the premise and the background and then went its own way
Brotherhood has the same storyline as the manga and is produced by the creator of the manga

9. Chobits
What would you suggest I watch next? Preferably closer to the Ouran and Shuffle style but still with elements of fantasy or action.

Question by Derek: How did Edward Elric make it through the other side of the gate? Fullmetal Alchemist original series?
If you offer yourself to a human transmutation, doesn’t your mind, body, and soul get trapped within the gate? So thats why im a bit confused about how ed made it through the other side.
Ive watched the entire series and the movie so dont worry.But remember in the second last episode, his replica died when the blimp crashed? So how does that work?

Are you talking about the last few episodes?
If so , I won’t tell you since you probably haven’t seen the last episode. Go to YouTube.com and search “fullmetal alchemist movie” by Funimation. And it’ll explain there.
If your talking about the first few episodes , when it explains the stories and how this all started , Edward never went through. He just stayed infront of it , and then went back to his world , but with missing limbs of course.
SPOILER ALERT SPOILER IF YOU HAVE YET TO SEE THE MOVIE.
If you already saw te movie , and STILL don’t get it. Edward didn’t necessarily keep his body , he just got transported to an exact replica of his body in that dimension. You know , how when he was there , there was another version of … I forgot the name , but his younger brother… But it wasn’t really HIM , just looked like him? Well , Edward got transported to his replica in mind and soul. Who knows what happened to the person who was there first!

Harry Potter is commonly loved by young and old because of the love and adventure/fantasy brought into the books and the high budget well written movies as well but no one seems to notice how dull the character Harry Potter really is. I mean come on he never really shows any true emotion except seeming upset or angry at points but he is so over rated, not the books or movies but how great he is/ He isnt that selfless either. Yeah his parents sacrifed themselves for him and he pretty much sacrificed himself in the last one but there was no emotion in it, he never showed he was upset to die but the reward of saving his friends and family was what motivated him and everyone praising him for not really doing anything. And the first 3-4 books were like mystery/detective books in a wizerdy world you cant deny that then it gets all heavy into horcruxes which I don’t think was originally planned and they through that into the mix and try to make Harry look so self ritious but in the end is really the least exciting character, he’s always so flat and dull and it just bores me. I love the movies and love the story’s but I just wish people would acknowledged this.
And a lot of his actions are unrealistic to the situation and as for his feelings toward his family treating him awful, he never really reacted to it or showed reaction other than singing happy birthday to himself or talking to hedwig.
@RKL88 you’re naming of all the things he’s done and not his motivation or characteristics/emotion. I could say I took a shit and think nothing of it as you said he is so exciting because he defeated the dark lord instead of saying why or what led him to that point.

I understand where you’re coming from, his character ultimately IS dull. But I don’t think Harry was that unemotional. Think about it, you’re parents died and the family that you’ve been living with hates the living shit out of you…I mean…what are you supposed to feel?
It’s not like his main goal in life was to be praised, it’s just that he did what he had to do to save the ones that he truly valued in his life. In my point of view, the reason why Harry wasn’t upset about dying was because his loved ones were in danger and he still knew that the only way to save his friends was for him to succeed. I believe that that’s selflessness, a trait Harry had learned to develop over the books.

There are only two full metal alchemist shows the 1st (and best in my opinion) full metal alchemist which has a story only based on the manga and has many differences from it. The other is full meal alchemist brotherhood which is basically the same as the first but it follows the manga more than the first so basically no order just a bit different plot. You can watch either as their own individual series.
