Question by scott: Is it a waist of time to read textbooks if I don’t remember the content I am reading?
Am I subconsciously remembering some of the stuff I am reading? Like for instance I would not be able to tell you a vocab word but if I were to read it again, would I have an “oh yeah” moment? I feel like I am not remembering anything from my textbook because it is so complicated. Is it normal not to understand everything I am reading in the textbook? (not even half) I am reading a neuroscience book by the way.

Best answer:

Answer by Aaron
bold letter question: yes it is

well im no expert on neuroscience but to understand something you are reading if you concentrate on learing every single word you wont
i mean do you remember to breath every time?
do you think of walking? no you just do it what i do is listen to music that i generally hear not my faves but just cool music and even if i read some book when i hear that one song (i cant remember the name) i always remember that one book i read or anything like what i relate things.

try getting with a tutor read a paragraph and summarize it and ask him to generalize it and then go into detail of what you dont understand in his summarization. learn the little things.

build it up as much as you can and reenforce it with someone’s help make sense?

What do you think? Answer below!

Question by Cuts_to_Christ: How much could I get for these games on Ebay?
There are these AWESOME Nancy Drew games that I used to collect when I was younger…they are computer/PC games that you download and then you can begin an awesome adventure and you ARE Nancy Drew…you also go all over the world (China, Paris, etc) and you can learn language, and how to bake, and make things, and do crafts, and it is really mature like 15-20 year olds love it! It is actually legit…anyways, I need money, and I have 14 games (14 different mysteries!) and each mystery costs about -15 bucks in stores. If I sold all 14 games (that are in perfect condition) how much should I sell the set for?

Best answer:

Answer by •Poppy•
Maybe a game, since they’re used. You may be able to get a little more for Secrets Can Kill or Stay Tuned for Danger since they’re both discontinued.

Question by myira_shine: What non serious-injury would cause someone to slip in and out of consciousness from hitting their head?
I’m writing a story and I wanted my character to slip, fall, hit her head, and then pass out and wake up in the hospital and the doctor finds out and tells her that she’s pregnant. But I read that when you pass out, you only pass out for a few seconds up to a minute so that wouldn’t work for me because I want the doctor to have to determine whether or not my character is pregnant so that she can break the news to her.

In other words: the doctor would typically ask if the character if she is pregnant, to which she would reply ‘no’ since she has no idea that she is. But I want the doctor to be the one to have to find out that answer herself because my character would be unconscious at the time and couldn’t provide an answer on her own. And I can’t do that if she only passes out a second after she falls and then is awake once she’s casting up her wrist fracture.

So what kind of non-serious injury to the head would cause her to slip in and out of consciousness? Is it possible to just slip and hit your head hard on the floor and have that happen?

Best answer:

Answer by Plogsties
It can’t be “non-serious” if it causes loss of consciousness. Unless of course it represents a hysterical conversion reaction.

Can there be a synthesis between faith and reason? And also, what does anyone think the nature of consciousness is? Is consciousness considered material reactions in our brain or something that is immaterial and can exist past death? Just wondering on everyone’s thoughts.

Question by illraxvional threxzom: Is there any religion or theory that believes human consciousnesses continues on-?
Inside a corpse after brain death? I’ve never heard of such a theory or idea. I think most people agree that cadavers have no consciousness at all and if consciousness continues after brain death, than it most be in some sorta spirit or ghost form. But is there any religious or paranormal theories about cadavers retaining consciousness at some level.
Athiest but does anybody believe that the afterlife happens within the corpse?
I’m agnostic. I just want to know if a religion exists that believes this idea or something similar to it.
I should have asked this question differently than I did. The actual question is ‘ Are their any religions or paranormal theories that consciousness continues within a corpse?
I will ask this question again in a different way. David D came close to answering it. So he will get best answer unless someone else changes their answer, or another person answers it properly.

Best answer:

Answer by i’m an atheist
almost every religion believes that there is an afterlife

there is no evidence of an afterlife.

I don’t believe in an afterlife. When we die, we simply cease to exist.

Question by : Can you respond to Kor Outfitter’s enter the battlefield ability?
1. I cast Kor Outfitter
2. Opponent passes priority back, I let it resolve
3. In response to the enter the battlefield ability, I use Stoneforge Mystic to put Argentum Armour on the field and attach it to a different creature.

Is this allowed?

Best answer:

Answer by MagicianTrent
No, you’d have to put the Argentum Armor on the battlefield before the Outfitter resolves, because the target Equipment and target creature for Outfitter’s ability must be chosen as it goes on the stack. as such, the Argentum must be on the field as the Outfitter arrives.
