@RichVoyages it’s an impractical idea for two main reasons.
First, a bridge has sway which would be uncomfortable for an office–this is so that the bridge can reduce oscillation. Second, the noise of large quantities of high-speed motorcars, plus their engines, would make such a living space extremely noisy and uncomfortable. Finally, it’s an extremely expensive method of housing–bridges are expensive due to their supports and increase exponentially with weight/size.
I just saw a video / blog mentioning dual use suspension bridges.Taking old bridges and turning them into apartments,business etc… interesting to see this mentioned in this video from over 70 years ago.
